The revolutionary design of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ begins from the inside out. Samsung rethought every part of the phone’s layout to break through the confines of the Smartphone screen. So all we see is pure content and no bezel. It’s the biggest, most immersive screen on a Galaxy Smartphone of this size. And it’s easy to hold in one hand.

Design

Infinity Display

The Infinity Display has an incredible end-to-end screen that spills over the phone’s sides, forming a completely smooth, continuous surface with no bumps or angles. It’s pure, pristine, uninterrupted glass. And it takes up the entire front of the phone, flowing seamlessly into the aluminum shell. The result is a beautifully curved, perfectly symmetrical, singular object.

Galaxy S8 and S8+ larger than ever screen that still fits comfortably in hand. Samsung achieved this by completely redesigning the phone from the inside out. And Samsung have also reinvented the home button, by placing it on the screen, where it stays hidden until we need it. So we get a bigger, unobstructed view without making the phone larger. Galaxy S8 and S8+ feel small in our hand, making them easy to hold and use. With 18.5:9 display ratio, every detail fits exquisitely on our screen.

Measured diagonally, the Galaxy S8 screen size is 14.65cm (5.8) as a full rectangle and 14.33cm (5.6) when accounting for the rounded corners, the Galaxy S8+ screen size is 15.81cm (6.2) as a full rectangle and 15.45cm (6.1) when accounting for the rounded corners. Default resolution is Full HD+ and can be changed to Quad HD+ (WQHD+) in Settings.

Scroll less, do more

Text while we watch a movie or make a list while we browse. The bigger screen lets us multitask efficiently, and we can effortlessly resize the windows to see more of what’s important. And when just one thing has our attention, we’ll see more of the article or our social media feed, so we scroll less.

Home Key: Invisible but accessible

The new navigation keys are no different from the physical ones we’re used to. Only they’re now beautifully inconspicuous—until we need them. The home key is where it normally is, and it works just as usual with a simple press.

Styled for the future

Enjoy seamless navigation on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ with a sleek and clean interface that aligns beautifully with the smooth Infinity Display. As we unlock from the AOD (Always On Display) and switch between apps, the visual journey on screen is just as striking as the exterior. Video of constellation in night sky both on the AOD screen of the Galaxy S8 and S+ screens as well as the background and the constellations moving with the phones.

Relocate Fingerprint Reader

In Galaxy S8 and S8+ company relocate fingerprint reader from front to rear near primary camera now use your index for unlocking it.

Camera: Ready for action

When we’re quick enough to capture the moment, we need a camera that’s just as fast and focused—like the one on Galaxy S8 and S8+. It focuses as swiftly as our eyes do, using its Dual Pixel sensor. That combined with a wide aperture ensures that our photos are clear and vibrant. Most Smartphone cameras work best during the day. But our  life is 24/7. So Samsung  built a camera that works day and night, and Samsung made it even better for the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The front and rear cameras are so fine-tuned that our photos come out bright and clear—even when there’s very little light.

Front camera : 8MP AF for Selfies Crisp and Clear

Turn on the selfie camera and take selfies that everyone will want to share. Smart Auto Focus tracks faces, so whether we use our arm or a selfie stick, everyone in the frame will be in focus. Also, enhanced multi-frame image processing keeps all our selfies crisp and clear.

Rear camera: 12MP Dual Pixel

The rear camera on Galaxy S8 and S8+ comes with a 12 MP sensor, which is equivalent to 16 MP. The size of the pixels this time has been increased from 1.2 microns to 1.44 microns, which allows 25% more light to enter the camera. The aperture has been reduced to f/1.7, which is again great for capturing low light pictures. Dual Pixel autofocus has been introduced; it can also be called as the PDAF 2.0. It is an improved technology to increase the speed of autofocus and get sharper and clearer images. I’ll be explaining about the Dual Pixel autofocus technology further in this article.

Pro mode

Make full use of the Galaxy S8 and S8+’s superior camera performance by turning on Pro Mode. It gives us the option to adjust any of the six settings: ISO, Shutter speed, Exposure, Color tone, Manual focus, and White Balance.

Security

High Tech Security

Samsung put in place effective mechanisms that prevent unwanted snooping, while making it surprisingly convenient for us. Iris scanning technology,  protects our personal data and allows us to easily unlock our phone while defense-grade security stands guard around the clock.

Secure Folder: Secure our most private information

If we have files and apps that need to be kept truly private, keep them in the Secure Folder. Once there, they can only be accessed by us. And Samsung’s defense-grade Knox system will make sure it stays that way. For ultimate privacy, we also have the option to make the Secure Folder visible only to us. Knox security begins at the chip level. Something only Samsung can do as chipmakers. Building on the chip-level security are five crucial layers of protection that work at hardware and software levels. On the Galaxy S8 and S8+, the upgraded Knox 2.8 is in place to safeguard our data around the clock.

Performance

Fast, even in the rain

We never really stop using our phone. That’s why Galaxy S8 and S8+ are driven by the World’s first 10nm processor. It’s fast, powerful and increases battery efficiency. What’s more, with IP68**. we can even work through rain or dust. If that’s not enough, with external storage, we will never run out of space. Because of most advanced 10nm processor it Downloads, charging and switching from app to app are all accomplished at incredibly fast speeds.

**IP68 rating (Dust and Water Resistant) means that the device is protected against entry of solid foreign objects, and harmful ingress of static water at up to 1.5m, for up to 30 minutes, under certain defined test conditions. According to accredited test results; individual results may vary.

World’s First 10 nm AP

Apps launch faster, battery life is longer, and power consumption is down by up to 20%. Galaxy S8 and S8+ are speedier and better-performing phones thanks to the innovation of the 10nm processor.

Audio enthusiasts rejoice: we can now hear music as it is meant to be heard because Galaxy S8 and S8+ feature high-quality 32-bit PCM and DSD64/128 playback support. Plus, the new bundled earphones not only offer pure sound by AKG, they fit better and our ears stay comfortable.

Memory that’s Really expandable :

Battery

We’re able to use our Galaxy S8 or S8+ for longer with each charge because the better-performing processor means a more efficient use of battery life. And with wireless charging and fast charging capabilities, charging the battery is also easy and convenient.

Fast And Wireless Charging

Wireless charging is as easy as putting our phone down. If we were watching something on our phone, just prop the charger up. With Galaxy S8 and S8+’s fast charging power, we can have it back in our hand in no time.

USB Type-C : Either way is up

Plug in and charge without a second thought. With Galaxy S8 and S8+’s charger cable, we can: USB Type-C means there’s no up or down.

Intelligence: Say hello to Bixby

Bixby completely changes the way we interact with our phone. It’s a personal assistant that understands talk, text, and taps so we are never confined to one mode of communication. Also, it completely changes the way we search. Just open our camera app and show Bixby what we want. Bixby used the camera to analyze on-screen content and provide we with a range of information services. Whether we’d like to know more about a product or place, find a restaurant nearby, or even translate a document—just ask Bixby. No more typing into boxes. It’s that easy. Bixby voice controls will be integrated into some of our favorite native apps, and will understand instructions in US English, US Spanish, Korean, and Chinese.

Ex: Focus the camera on a landmark to get handy information on the place and on where to go for dinner.
